Using optical fiber, a material that plays a fundamental role in modern high-speed, large-capacity, long-distance communications, I have created a prototype of an optical device with a new concept. A large number of optical fibers are bundled into a structure with an input function at one end and an output function at the other.In optical communication, all information is converted into discrete information in the form of blinking light, but the objective of this work was to transmit continuous information, such as the color and intensity of light, as it is, to a distance without conversion.

現代の高速・大容量・長距離間通信の根幹を担う素材とも言える光ファイバーを用いて、新たなコンセプトをもつ光学装置のプロトタイプを制作した。束ねられた大量の光ファイバーは、一方の末端に入力機能、もう一方に出力機能をもった構造となる。
光通信において、あらゆる情報は光の点滅という離散的な情報に変換されるが、本作では光の色や強弱といった連続的な情報を変換することなく、ありのまま遠くへ伝えることを目的とした。
